New Cobb County Tower off Chastain Road
Kennesaw, GA
Municipal Communications, LLC, completed construction of another stealth tower in Cobb County, Georgia, on June 12th. The site is near the intersection of Chastain Rd and I-575 and will support the thousands of commuters and residents in this area. Given the accelerating growth of Cherokee County and north Cobb, the tower’s completion comes at the perfect time as more tech savvy families choose to locate in the area, increasing the demand for wireless voice and data capacity.
Peter Corry, CEO of Municipal states, “This structure will have three national wireless carriers right out of the gate, providing the residents nearby with multiple options from which to choose. As always, we could not have made this happen without the great support of the Cobb Board of Commissioners and the Cobb County staff.”
Municipal constructed a 140’ tree tower and took great care to ensure that it would blend in with the existing tree line in the area. “The technology and design for camouflaged sites has come a long way,” explained Senior Vice President John Throckmorton. “We designed a structure with a range of branch lengths so the tower would blend in with the surrounding tree cover. At the present time, it is impossible to see this tower from the ground, and very difficult to pick it out from the air. Once the carriers are installed later this year, its impact will be huge in terms of improved coverage. People won’t see it, but they will know and appreciate that it is there. ”
